FAQs

What is the Check In/Check Out time?

Check In is at 3 pm and Check Out is at 10 am.

What amenities are included with my rental? Specifically, what do I get when I pay the $65 per day resort fee?

The $65 per day resort fee allows you access to many of the resort amenities at Palmetto Bluff. They include:

Access to Kayaks/Paddleboards (Inland Waterway and May River) – To use these, go to either Recreation or the Canoe Club pool and ask someone to get life vests, paddles, etc. They may ask for your address. If they do, let them know you are a registered vacation rental guest. You will need to plan to go there at least 15 minutes or so ahead of your planned time to start the activity as sometimes they cant drop what they are doing right then to assist.

Fishing Gear – Some rentals of light tackle and gear are available. Go to Recreation to reserve these.

Pools – access to both the Riverhouse (Adult) Pool and the Canoe Club pool are included.

Gyms – Access to the gyms at both the Canoe Club and Riverhouse.

Croquet, Tennis, Bocce, Basketball courts – use of the Wilson Lawn and Racquet Club (Tennis, Croquet, Bocce, Basketball courts) are also included

Longfield Stables – excursions are available for a fee.

Rentals of Golf Carts or Bicycles – additional costs apply.

River House Porching

Nightly S’mores!

Can I play golf at the May River Course if I stay in your home?

No, You must either be be a golf club member or be staying at a home/ hotel room reserved through the Montage Resort in order to play golf at the May River Course.  In the past, some of our guests have reserved the least expensive room they could book for a day in order to play for 2 days in a row (check in and out days). They feel the cost savings of our VRBO home justifies the additional expense of the cost of a hotel room for a night.

There are also great courses in both Hilton Head and Savannah that are open to the public.

Should I rent a golf cart? How do I rent bicycles?

Golf carts really aren’t necessary as our home is located with in walking distance to all the resort amenities and restaurants. Renting bicycles is strongly recommended. If you would like to rent either golf carts or bicycles, you can do so by calling (843) 706-6628.

Bicycles may be rented from the Carriage House for $15 per bicycle/per day up to $45 maximum charge per bicycle per stay. Golf carts may be rented for an additional $75 charge per day. (Call for additional details and stipulations.)

Will I have internet access?

Our home has hi-speed internet and we offer it at no charge to our guests. The Wi-Fi access code will be on a placard when you enter the home.

Should I bring groceries?

Yes, if you want to eat in a lot. No, if you are happy to dine out!

There is a “convenience plus” store on the property within walking distance from the home (RT’s Market) and a Publix within a 20 minute drive.

Do you have baby gear (crib, stroller, etc.) available in the home?

No, but there is a great rental service, Babies Away, that can deliver and set up just about anything you need: 843.681.8722 or www.babysawayhhi.com

Is there a place to go horseback riding for both me and my children?

Yes! I HIGHLY recommend planning an excursion to go to Lawton Stables in Hilton Head (about a 30 minute drive). They have horses, ponies, trail rides and a petting zoo! Everyone in the family will be very pleased with this outing! Visit them at Lawton Stables to book your adventure!

What should I pack?

Life in Palmetto Bluff is pretty casual… T-Shirts, Polo shirts, Shorts, Sundresses, Sandals and Flip-flops are the norm in the Summer. Don’t forget sunscreen, a beach bag, swimsuits, reef (water) shoes, books/magazines, bug repellant, cover-ups, hats, sunglasses and your camera!

Summer often has afternoon showers so you might want to bring a lightweight hooded rain slicker.

Winters can be tricky (both hot and cold!) so bring a wind breaker, sweaters, etc.

Take a look at the weather a few days prior to departure and you will have a fairly accurate forecast.
